In the 1800s, Meriden earned the nickname "Silver City," due to the large number of cutlery and related products which were manufactured here by companies such as International Silver and Meriden Cutlery. Meriden's silver and cutlery products were known throughout the world for their quality and beauty. More silver products were manufactured in Meriden, CT. than anywhere else in the world. Customers would often tell their friends that their cutlery was manufactured in the Silver City. So to honor this glorious past we have chosen to use the name SILVER CITY as the name of our restaurant.
